Jed Grimes has
a spectacular musical pedigree. He is not only a wonderful songwriter,
but also someone with a charismatic quality that shines right through
his music. His comfort and maturity stand out a mile: inventive and thoughtful.
Geoff Wall/Folk On Tap.
Jed Grimes brought his usual mix of great guitar, good songs well sung
and Northern charisma to the Festival. He delighted a packed concert
marquee with his solo spot , and surprised another packed marquee when
he joined The Doonan Family on stage for a blinding rendition of 'Bring
It On Home'. Great stuff as always, delivered with his usual charm:an
asset to any festival!
Kim Headley/Artistic Director, Broadstairs Folk Week
Lately - finally - a few young bloods are taking folk music somewhere
genuinely new and exhilarating. Freshly outed as the north-east music
scene's secret weapon, Jed Grimes carries the same bright torch for the
established generation.

It’s been a while since I heard an album this striking
– perhaps as long ago as Sting’s Ten Summoner’s Tales.
A resounding tour de force.

Jed's skill at arranging often familiar material in new
and stylish ways is never in doubt. I've lived with this CD for a month
or two now, and every time I return to it I'm delighted anew by the constantly
changing, ever alert and bright-eyed instrumental textures, with acoustic
and electric elements deliciously counterpointed. And stylistically of
course, Jed's at home with all manner of musical influences, which he
integrates into these textures to positively serve the songs.
