High
note for city's art gallery By The Evening Chronicle The Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle is hosting an evening of art and music as part of an extraordinary night of culture across the city on May 19. The Late Shows is a collaboration between fourteen cultural venues across Tyne and Wear including the Laing, BALTIC, and Hatton Gallery. As part of a varied programme of events, the Laing Art Gallery will host a series of exclusive performances by Jed Grimes, Radio 2 National Folk Awards nominee and one of the North East's premier folk musicians. Jed will be performing songs relating to the Work, Rest & Play exhibition, now showing at the gallery. Julie Milne, curator of the Laing Art Gallery, said: "Jed Grimes has brought so much to folk music and culture in the North East to the point where he is now rightly considered a local music legend." |
